There's this one redhead, who's walking around the village as if he was looking for someone. He doesn't really seem lost, but judging from clothes he's wearing, he's obviously new here.

After a moment of searching though, he scratches the back of his head and makes a thoughtful look. It seems he won't find his friends here. But they're okay for sure, so there's nothing to worry.

And so, instead, Mao turns around and walks up to the first person he sees.]</sub>

Huh? They really can? I have to see that!

_{[I don't believe you~ And even if it's stronger than my Disaster Roar, it still can't be stronger than Infernal Drive.]}

It sounds pretty interesting, but from what I've heard the animals pretty much talk about food, how great everything is and how they like to complain if you let them go on and on... So pretty much what you would expect an animal to talk about.

[Yyyeaaah well Infernal Drive can't be stronger than Beast Blow! ...Which is just his beast form made into a hi-ougi BUT DETAILS.]

You never know, you could get some animal to tell you where they stash their food or something.

[Shrug. Walking over to see what Mao found-- oh they are just sticks with handles.]

They look more impressive than I had thought.

[I thought Infernal might have been right seeing as you're the mao master /SHOT BUT he needs Eugene to pull it off. And guess who isn't here~]

Huh? And why would I want to know where they stash their food?

I don't know really, not sure what else you would want to ask a bunch of animals. What you would talk to them about?

They look like nicely decorated sticks. With handles on them. It would probably hurt to get hit by one.

[/pat pat Precisely! But Caius isn't from them either. So he doesn't even have a hi-ougi... And if Tempest is anything to go off of he can't jump either.]

They're not sticks. And yes, it would really hurt if you got hit by one.

[raising an eyebrow.]

Hit me. I'm curious about how strong those tonfa things really are, so take a swing at me or whatever it is you do with them.

[Waving his arm guard in front of his face whilst he speaks. It's cool, this giant hunk of metal on his wrist will protect him.]

[Bringing up his arm guard to block the hit.]

Was that it? I'm sure you can do better than that!

_{[Mao hesitates a little, but hits again. And this time the hit is better, but probably still far from being anything really impressive. Mao relies on spells most of the time, so he isn't exactly strong physically.]}

[Taking the hit with his arm guard, though Caius takes a step back after this second attempt.]

That's better, you should try and land all of your attacks like that.

[The possibility of Mao being more proficient in spells hasn't even crossed his mind.]

I usually focus on casting spells during battles, so I don't really get to use my weapons often, you know.

Sure I do, if you can't even land a proper strike that is-- [Oh wait, spells.] You cast spells? With tonfas?

...How does that work? Don't you need a staff for that? Though I suppose two sticks are kind of like small staves.

No, I don't need that. Why would I need any kind of weapon to cast a spell anyway?

Well that's... True, actually. Guess you don't need a weapon to use spells. It just seems most people that use spells who I know all use staves.

[Except for the Pope, but he was all sort of evil and stuff and totally an exception.]

I know only one person who uses those.

_{[He nods more to himself than anything else.]}

The weapon doesn't matter at all when it comes to casting spells.

If that's the case does that mean I could start casting spells whilst using a sword? Not that I'd want to, but if I did then I could, right?

If you knew how to use magic, then yeah.

Can't be that hard to learn a basic spell or something like that, right? Then I could learn to cast a spell and attack with my sword at the same time.

I don't know if it's that easy in your world, but in mine you have to be a Force User to learn any kind of magic.

Some magic in my world needs you to learn priseputh incantations to use the magic in the air... And that's all I know about using spells on my world. [But like hell can he be bothered to remember any incantations. There's also Life Magic but that's way too different for this conversation.] Never heard of Force Users before, so I doubt myself or anyone else from Areulla is one.
