There's this one redhead, who's walking around the village as if he was looking for someone. He doesn't really seem lost, but judging from clothes he's wearing, he's obviously new here.

After a moment of searching though, he scratches the back of his head and makes a thoughtful look. It seems he won't find his friends here. But they're okay for sure, so there's nothing to worry.

And so, instead, Mao turns around and walks up to the first person he sees.]</sub>

That depends... Some people stay here for only a few months, but others have already been here for a few years. ... I don't think there's a pattern to it. You just have to get lucky.

[She pauses for a moment, before launching into the next bit of explaining Luceti.] I'm sure you've noticed your wings by now?

It's hard not to notice them actually...

[She nods faintly.] Everyone in the village has them. ... I believe everyone in this world has them. It's said that we need these wings to live. If something happens to them, we could get sick, or even die. That's why it's important to keep them safe.

This entire village is covered by a barrier. It's impenetrable from either side. ... I believe it's magical in nature. Everything inside this barrier is controlled by a group of scientists. They call themselves the Malnosso.

Malnosso? ...Where they the ones who brought us here?

No. ... At least, they claim they aren't. They say that they're trapped in this world, just like the rest of us. By testing their special technology, they hope to find a way to send us all back home for good.

So they're trying to help us?

In a way... The problem is, they test their technology on us. Their experiments can have all sorts of strange effects on the village and its inhabitants, but there is nothing we can do to stop them.

What? So they are the bad guys, aren't they?!

Yes and no. They are incredibly inconsiderate of our feelings and sometimes cause a lot pain, but they keep us safe from the war outside and are attempting to get us all home. ... Or so they claim.

No, it's not... Though, I'm sure everyone in the village is willing to make a stand, once the time is right.

_{[not sure what to say (which is a rare moment), he only nods at that.]}

Did you find a journal when you awoke here?

[She takes out her own journal and opens it to show him, indicating a few of the relevant buttons.]

The journal can be used to communicate with others. That is to say... Everyone in the village has one. If you write something in your journal, or speak into it, everyone will receive your message. And it will show a picture of you alongside the message as well, as long as the journal can 'see' you. [She doesn't really get how cameras work.]

Oh, it's very useful. That's why it's best to keep the journal with you at all times. You never know when you might need it, and if one of your friends arrives, there is a good chance they'll leave a message in their journal as well.
